マイクロソフトが現在開発中のソフト及び技術です。ムービーなどが公開されています。撮影したデジカメ画像を画素数にかかわらずスムーズにズームしたり、好きなアングルで見たり、似たような画像を探したりできるソフトのようです。

With Photosynth you can:

* Walk or fly through a scene to see photos from any angle.

* See where pictures were taken in relation to one another.

* Explore a custom tour.
* Send a collection to a friend.

デモを見た感想として、"Photo Walker"に激似ですね。
3次元空間上に写真を配置するというコンセプトもほとんど同じなのではないでしょうか？

ただ、そのパフォーマンスは目を見張るばかりで、かなりの大きな（解像度の高い）写真をサクサクと動かしています。未来？

なにかと、Googleが話題になりがちですが、
