Googleの類似画像検索「Similar Images」の新しいインターフェースがラボで公開されております。

　米Googleは17日、探している画像を段階的に見つけやすくする新サービス「Google Image Swirl」をGoogle Labsにて実験的に公開した。

　「Google Image Swirl」では、似ている画像をひとまとめにすることによって、まず自分が探している種類と異なる画像を除外できる。いわば、探している種類の画像の束を絞り込んでいくことによって、目的の画像を見つけやすくする仕組みだ。

10月にラボから正式サービスに昇格していた「類似画像検索」ですが、検索ツールとして提供されている「ワンダーホイール」ぽいインタフェースを実装といった感じです。

公式ブログには

Image Swirl currently works for more than 200,000 queries and we plan to include more queries in the future. Available queries will auto-complete as you start to type in the search box, similar to Google Suggest.

と、ありますので現在のところは、登録された20万クエリーのみの利用ということのようです。
